The path I chose
Water for the thirsty
Giving water to the people of the desert is my greatest achievement. All knowledge, all philosophies come to naught when compared to giving clean sustainable water to people in need.
Through trial and error, I quickly discovered that it is possible to reach the highest levels of development even though I didn’t come from a privileged background and financial abundance. The secret is to never give up because you never know how close you are to the goal if you give up.
What do you leave behind? Houses, cars, yachts? What defines you as a human being? For me, it’s what I leave behind in making the world a better place. The water systems that I installed, the children I took care of and the smiles I brought to people at the far ends of the world is what matters.
TO MY SUPPORTERS
You have been by my side for more than 25 years through thick and thin, whether we communicated or not. In all times you have supported my work without wavering. The legacy I leave behind is also your legacy. For whatever’s worth, you have my heart and my gratitude.
TO MY CRITICS
The beauty of doing nothing is that you can do it perfectly. Only when you do something is it almost impossible to do it without mistakes. Therefore people who are contributing nothing to society, except their constant criticisms, can feel both intellectually and morally superior.
The way I choose to live my life is only according to my own conscience and my own experience. I will not copy another’s life or pattern. I lived a thousand lives on six continents. Only spending the same amount of time in my shoes can you then judge me.
My humanity, my religion and my creed are shown in what I do for others. Empty words and eloquent speeches without practical aplications are vain.
